Shraddha Walkar was a 27-year-old Indian woman who was murdered by her 28-year-old boyfriend and live in partner Aaftab Amin Poonawala in delhi on 18 May 2022.

Incident

The case only came to light nearly six months after the murder, when Shraddha's father lodged a missing persons complaint after learning from Shraddha's friends that they were unable to contact her for over two-and-a-half months. On 18 May 2022, 28-year-old Aaftab Poonawala strangled his live-in partner Shraddha over an argument and then proceeded to dismember her body into 35 pieces, allegedly charring her face to hide her identity. A 300-litre fridge was used to store her body parts, which were individually disposed in the chhatarpur  forest over the next 18 days, at around 2 AM every night to avoid suspicion.

Poonawala was arrested by the Delhi Policeon 12 November 2022. Shraddha's father has demanded the death penalty for Aaftab.

Shraddha Walkar

Shraddha Walkar lived with her family until 2018, which consisted of her mother and brother in Vasai, Palghar District, Maharashtra. She studied in a convent school in Vasai and took admission in a BMM course in Viva Institute of Technology, Virar. She later dropped out from the course. Her father, Vikas Walkar, lived separately and operated an electronics service business. While working at a call centre of an MNC in Malad, Shraddha met Aaftab Amin Poonawala via the Bumble app. Aaftab is also resident of Vasai. He went to L.S. Raheja College for BMM studies. He, coincidentally, also worked at the same call centre. In 2019, she moved out to live with him, against her family's wishes, who opposed the interfaith relationship and the idea of living-in with someone "she barely knew".

Friends and family of Shraddha have further accused Poonawala of physically abusing Walkar regularly prior to the murder.

Accused

Aaftab Poonawala worked at the same MNC call center as Shraddha Walkar. He confessed to the murder after the police discovered discrepancies in his statements and recovered evidence of the murder. He was then taken to the forest to identify Shraddha's remains.

Aaftab Amin Poonawalla was charged by Delhi police for killing Shraddha walkar and chopping her body in May 2022. The chargesheet was based on evidence and witness testimony. Police allege he strangled Shraddha and disposed of remains. Aaftab was arrested after investigation found last location in Delhi.

Reactions

The public reaction to the gruesome crime has ranged from shock to victim-blaming which went from questioning Shraddha's decision to not leave Aaftab to engaging in an interfaith relationship.

Kaushal Kishore the Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affair, said that couples who wish to live together must register in court or should have proper registration. He also added that women should stay away from such live-in relationships.

Aftab Amin Poonawalla the accused in horrific Shraddha Walker Muder case had watched many crime movies and web series including (Dexter) before committing the crime revealed Delhi Police source .

Delhi police solved a six month old blind murder case and arrested a man for allegedly killing his 28 year old live in partner  chopping her body into 35 pieces and disposing of them at different places in and around the national capital. The identified as Aftab Amin (28) a resident of Mumbai Was caught on Saturday on the on the basics of the deceased`s father complaint and ha been sent to police remand for five days . The police said on Monday that the victim identified as Sraddha Walker from Mumbai met to Aftab while working at a call center in Mumbai.

They both got together via a dating app in Mumbai  . They were in a live in relationship for three years and had shifted to Delhi. Soon after they both shifted to Delhi Sraddha started pressurizing him to marry her additional DCP-I South Delhi Ankit Chauhan told ANI. The two quarreled frequently and it is used to get out of control. In this particular instance that Occured on May 18 than man lost his temper and strangled her said by Chauhan .

Aftab told the police that he chopped her into pieces and disposed of her parts in nearby area in the jungle area of Chhatarpur Enclave. He has been arrested and investigation is going on for few days . The Aftab allegedly chopped her body into 35 pieces and bought a fridge and kept her chopped pieces into it . He later started disposing of the body parts at different locations in and around Delhi during night hours at the time of 2:00 am for the next 18 days . He also said that he used to sleep every day in the same room where he had chopped the body after killing her . He used too see the face after keeping it in the fridge and he cleaned the fridge after disposing of the body parts . Aftab take one piece with him in plastic bag around the time of 2:00 am and throughout the piece in Chhatarpur forest but he did not through the plastic bag because to decompose the parts . He said that he had relation  with many girls even before Sraddha . Due to this reason he said that Sraddha get to know about his all relations behind this reason they got started fight with each other and he also said that before committing the crime he also watched crime movies and web series including the American crime drama series Dexter .

In September the sraddha friend informed her family that there was no contact with Sraddha for the last two and a half months and her mobile number was also switched off . Her also checked her social accounts and found no update during this period and in November the Sraddha`s father Vikash Madan Walker a resident of Palghar (Maharashtra) approached Mumbai Police and logeed a missing complaint of Sraddha during the initial investigation the last location of Sraddha was found in Delhi and on the basis of this the Mumbai police transfered this case to Delhi police . Sraddha`s father told the police about his daughter`s relationship with Aftab and suspected his involvement in his daughter`s absence . During the investigation it was found that Aftab and Sraddha had come to Delhi and started living in a rented apartment in Chhaterpur Hilly  area . The police during the course of the investigation traced Aftab location and catched him.

Aftab said during questioning he confessed  to the crime and said that they fought often as Sraddha was pressurizing him for marriage . 

the police arrested Aftab under IPC section 302(murder) and 201 (Causing disappearence of evidence of an offence conmited)  has been registered at Mehrauli police station . The police also recovered some bones from the Aftab rented flat and officers said that the efforts to recover the the remaining parts of the body were on .

Ques: Why the police and the news reporter not involve the family of Aftab?

Ques: Aftab said that Sraddha pressurizing him for marry then why he kill her bec of this reason he also left her in a relationship?

Ques : Why Sraddha`s father was not report her missing complaint before 2 and half months ?

CONCLUSION :

I DON`T THINK THAT THIS IS THA MAJOR REASONM OF THE DEATH OF SRADDHA THAT AFTAB TOLD TO THIS POLICE . AND THERE WAS NOT ANY INVOLVEMENT OF AFTAB FAMILY I HAVE TO SEE MANY OF THE NEWS, REPORTERS VIDEO BUT THERE WAS NO ONE TALK ABOUT HIS FAMILY . AND WHY SRADDHA FATHER IS  TELL THE POLICE AFTER 2 AND 6 MONTHS AND SRADDHA ALSO WRITE A LETTER ON AFTAB THAT TODAY HE IS TRYING TO KILL ME THEN WHY NOT ANYONE FOCUS ON THAT LATTER. SO AS OF MY OPINION THIS IS NOT THE VALID REASON OF THE MUDER .
